King Edward VI school for girls, Summer 2011 edition.
Magazine Cover
The layout of the magazine is simple, the title is placed at the top, with a subtitle underneath and a sentence underneath which explains the picture used in the background, everything on the cover compliments each other. The font used for each heading is very simple and gives a sophisticated feel to it.
The picture on the cover is of three performing girls which shows that the school is showing of their talents through a magazine, performing arts may one of the best curriculum that they have to offer and so would like to put that forward the school prospectus. Because only one picture is used the cover is not too busy or overcrowded, so the attention is focused on the picture and the title alone, it is also a good quality photo and so makes it seem very professional. The lighting of the picture makes it stand out and this could be a reflection of the school and its students.
The contents of this magazine is at the bottom of the front page and so does not have an actual page for contents, this is an advantage for the magazine as people can then be enticed juts by looking at the front cover.
The entire layout of this magazine is organised and so this is a good example of a professional magazine. The colour scheme used is again very simple and no overpowering colours are used, and so the magazine seems much more smart and posh which could be a reflection of the school and its students that this magazine is representing.

I agree with you here Paige, this is a really good example for your blog, great start:)
